A UBD staff receives a
trophy and a prize for coming first.
Around 2,000 students and staff of
Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) participated in a jogathon
yesterday morning held at the university's campus.
The event - which was attended
by UBD's Vice Chancellor, Dr Hj Ismail Hj Duraman - commenced
and concluded at UBD's sports complex, where male participants
jogged a distance of 6.8 km while female participants covered
5.8 km.
The aim of the jogathon was to
raise money for the 'Students Fund', where the money collected
could be used for the undertaking of various programmes and
activities as well as aiding the Students Affairs Department in
their future programmes.
It also aimed to promote a more
healthy lifestyle in addition to strengthening ties among
students, lecturers and university staff members.
Money raised through donations
and sponsorship totaled more than $50,000.
Dr Hjh Sainah from the Students
Affairs Dept received a prize for collecting the highest
sponsorship with an amount totaling more than $1,400.
