Yayasan donates to thunderstorm victims

As part of the generous effort made by the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation towards the plight of the public in the country, the Managing Director of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abd Ghani bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Dewa Dato Paduka Hj Abd Rahim, together with the officers and staff of the Foundation visited the site of the recent thunderstorm victims yesterday. The group inspected the affected houses at the Kg Kulapis and Kg Kilanas, some which were in such a bad state they rendered the victims homeless.

The first site visited was at the residence of Hj Anggas bin Tinpos. The Managing Director of the Foundation then presented preliminary donations comprising daily necessities to the victims. Present during the handover, which was held at the premises of the victim's home was the Ketua Kampong of Kulapis, Awg Hj Nayan bin Apong.

The second site visited was at the residence of Awg Mohamed bin Besar. Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abd Ghani also presented preliminary donations comprising daily necessities to Awg Mohamed bin Besar and to Hj Abas bin Hj Abd Rahman. The presentation was held at the premises of the Ketua Kampong of Kilanas, Awg Hj Abd Lamat bin Hj Abd Rahman who was also present to witness the donation.

Awg Hj Abd Lamat expressed his gratitude of thankfulness to the Foundation for their assistance.

It was learnt that the plight of the victims will be further studied and scrutinised before the final decision for further donations is made. Most of the affected houses had had their electricity cut off.
