An agreement between American
Power Conversion (APC) and Sulaiman Development Services Sdn Bhd
(SDS-DD) was made yesterday whereby APC, a global leader in
end-to-end power availability solutions has made SDS-DD - a
leading local IT distributor - its Authorised Distributor and
Authorised Service Centre in Brunei.
Sulaiman Development Services
will distribute APC's Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) systems
to local resellers in the nation. Among the many products to be
distributed by Sulaiman Development Services will be Back-UPS
and Surge suppressors for desktop protection; Smart-UPS for
server protection; Symmetra Power Array and Silcon 3-phase UPS
for enterprise power protection as well as power management
accessories.
An APC uninterrupted power
supply (UPS) allows superior power protection to all attached
network devices such as servers, gateways, hubs and routers. The
system allows users to successfully manage, organise and protect
their devices, which are essential in todays fast pace society.
According to an IBM study, it
was found that the average computer is subjected to an average
of 128 power disturbances per month. Interruptions in the form
of surges and spikes to sags, blownouts and complete blackouts
may result in damage of hardware or worse - data loss. Data
problems range from keyboard lockups, frozen monitors, hardware
degradation, damaged motherboards among others.
With the availability of an APC-UPS
system, the incidence of power disturbances can be reduced.
There will be less keyboard lockups, system crashes, data
corruption and lost Internet connections.
Meanwhile, Digisoft Business

focus on high power solutions - selling and servicing APC Silcon
3-phase UPS ranging from 10 to 480kVA.
