The pitiful condition of the streetlight.

Only the pole stands without the light.

The state of the dangerous and uneven road.
Some of the roads in Brunei are
badly in need of lights. This has been reported many times in
the media. The latest case in point is a stretch of road between
Luagan Timbaran all the way to Lamunin.
These places are seriously in
need for streetlights.
When night falls, the only
source of light available is merely from the cars passing by and
some from the old debilitated streetlights.
Some of the obsolete lights are
actually without bulbs. The road along the area is quite narrow,
so the danger is much more apparent as a result of lack of
lights.
Not only that, it is also bumpy
thus making the ride more hazardous.
The situation gets particularly
worse whenever there is a torrential rain. Drivers have to watch
out for water puddles and to manoeuvre their cars cautiously as
the road is uneven and narrow.
With such insufficient
lighting, cyclists and pedestrians are most at risk and exposed
to accidents. To prevent this, relevant authorities should look
into this matter and take whatever necessary actions.
The area deserves better
amenities and improvements as any other places in the country.
