Brunei Ruler Arrives Indonesia
For State Visit

Jakarta -
His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei arrived in Jakarta
for a three-day official visit on Monday.
On arrival at the Halim Perdanakusuma
Military Airport, Indonesia's Foreign Affairs Minister Mr Matori Abdul
Djalil and the Social Affairs Minister Mr Bapak Bachtiar Chamsyah and
minister in attendance greeted the Brunei ruler.
Also present was the Indonesian
Ambassador to Brunei, Dr Yusbar Jamil and Brunei's Ambassador to
Indonesia Dato Ustaz Haji Mohd Amin.
The Brunei Sultan's state visit to
Indonesia is at the invitation of Indonesia's President Megawati
Sukarnoputri.
This is the Brunei Sultan's second
visit to the Indonesia and the first one was in 1984.
It is hoped that the state visit
would further enhance the cordial relations that have long existed
between the two countries.
Brunei and Indonesia established
diplomatic relations on January 1, 1984.
The Brunei Sultan left the sultanate
on Monday afternoon. Present to bid farewell at the Brunei
International Airport were His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee
Billah, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, His Royal Highness
Prince Abdul Azim and His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Malik.
The State Mufti Pehin Dato Awang Haji
Abdul Aziz read Doa Selamat.
Also present at the airport were
Pengiran-pengiran cheterias, cabinet ministers, deputy ministers and
senior government officers.
