Filipino Woman Fined For Immigration Offence

Bandar Seri Begawan - Cecilia Teodora Segayo Labiana, 42, was fined $700 or a month in prison yesterday when she pleaded guilty for failure to produce her passport to the Immigration officers on duty.

According to the Immigration Prosecuting Officer, Moharefandi Hj Md Tahir, the officer on duty at the Kuala Lurah check point became suspicious about her passport as there was no Immigration arrival stamp chopped in it. He then arrested her.

The defendant admitted in a statement that she slipped into Sarawak through the Kuala Lurah Immigration check point and returned soon after she got the Malaysian Immigration stamp at Tedungan, Limbang. (Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin)
