Boys and girls rushed their way to
school Sunday to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make
their dreams come true.
It was the English Week
Celebration of PDS School in Jalan Jangsak, which was opened
with the colourful "Fancy Dress Parade" recently.
Cinderella and her handsome
Prince were there, as well as Spiderman and Batman. Ninja Turtle
was a favourite for many and the Power Puff girls too didn't
want to miss the event. Children came to school in their
favourite cartoon and fairy tale character costume and paraded
in and around the school, accompanied by the PDS Parade Band.
The students also enjoyed
requesting their favourite songs from the "Dedication
Booth" while others were busy painting cards and posters at
the Card-making booth. It was indeed hot and humid that day but
Yakult drinks and Danone Tiger Biscuits were given away for free
by sponsors. The week-long celebration will also feature
"Spelling Bee", choral interpretations, poem
recitation, "Quiz Bee" culminating with the Awarding
Ceremony for all the winners on Saturday. Other activities
includes a book-fair, and even a vocabulary booth, which are
scheduled to take place April 12, 2003.
The grand festivity was
organised by the English Department of PDS School, headed by
Teacher Cecilia Landingin. The English teachers worked overtime
during the holidays in preparation for the occasion.
Mrs Mary Lim, Managing
Principal of PDS School and PDS International School with the
assistance of Cikgu Radzuan Abdullah, Principal of PDS School
(Secondary Section), led the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the
English Week Booths. The Fun Booths will be open for the
students and parents throughout the weekend.
