The Lord Mayor of the City of
London, Mr. Alderman Gavyn Arthur accompanied by spouse Lady
Mayoress, Miss Carole Blackshaw made several visits in the
Sultanate yesterday. They were accompanied by the High
Commissioner to the country, Mr Andrew Caie.
One of the places they visited
was at the Royal Regalia Building in the capital. Upon arrival,
they were greeted by Pg Hj Mohd Yamin, the Curator Exhibition
officer.
This was an interesting visit
for the distinguished visitors as the building displays various
characteristics of the philosophy of Malay Islamic Monarchy.
Furthermore, a large number of
items put on display are those that had been passed down from
generation to generation, as glorious symbols of the Brunei
Darussalam Government.
The honourable visitors were
able to view various galleries at the premises such as Royal
Regalia Exhibition (Coronation, 1968), Royal Exhibition Gallery,
Silver Jubilee Exhibition Gallery and Constitutional History
Gallery.
Earlier, the Minister of
Industry and Primary Resources, Pehin Dato Hj Abdul Rahman bin
Dato Setia Awang Haji Mohamed Taib received a courtesy call from
the Lord Mayor.
Dato Paduka Awang Haji Idris
Bin Hj Belaman, the Permanent Secretary at the Industry and
Primary Resources, department heads as well as the Head Section
at the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources were also
present.
