A former RBA officer in his early
forties was imposed a $1,000 fine and was ordered to compensate
a sum of $300 to a woman whom he had stamped in the face, after
pleading guilty to the misdemeanour yesterday.
Hj Kassim Hj Jumat was
previously working as a Fixed Asset officer at the nation's
aircraft carrier company where he worked with four other
colleagues in each partition in the RBA office hall.
It all began when a stray cat
wandered inside the premises of the office and some of the
workers started shouting on the morning of October 11, 1999.
The complainant Saridah, also
one of Hj Kassim's colleague, insinuated him and as he got angry
upon hearing that, he approached her and pulled her hair causing
Saridah to fall from her chair to the floor.
Hj Kassim then stamped on
Saridah's face with his shoes on.
The feud was later dispersed by
a few of their colleagues.
The complainant reported the
matter to the Berakas Police Station and as a result of
investigations, Saridah was discovered to have suffered injuries
from the force inflicted by Hj Kasim.
