Focus On The Young To Achieve Values

Kuala Belait - The young need to be educated and well versed in culture, knowledge, civilisation and religious and spiritual assessment, which form core of Malay culture.

To achieve this a contest was organised for primary schools in the Belait District yesterday.

The young need guidance and at the same time be instilled with the Malay Culture and identity because the ability of the race depends on the race itself.

Ten primary schools in the Belait District took part in the concert, which was divided into two categories namely choir and Malay creative dance.

The Warna Chirya Group with the song Assalamualaikum from the Sungai Liang Primary School emerged as the champion in the choir category.

While in the Malay Creative Dance, the winner was Nilam Sari Group of the Pengiran Setia Negara Pengiran Mohd Yussof Primary School with the dance and song, Chindai.

The contest is aimed at developing student talent into loving their Malay arts and culture and forging closer relationship between the students and their teachers.

It is also one of the activities included in the students' activities programmes and was the first time conducted in the Belait District.
