Young Encouraged To Read Holy Quran More

Kuala Belait - In response to the government call to see more youths to be able to read the Holy Quran, the finals of the Quran Reading Competition for Youths in the Belait District was held on Thursday night.

Brunei will stand proud if the goal for more youths who can read the Al-Quran whether as normal recitation or practising its teachings is achieved.

Five boys and girls competed in the contest.

Awang Abdul Kayum bin Haji Aminudin was the winner in the Boys category while Dayang Nurhayati binti Zilani was the winner in the Girls category.

The annual contest organised by the Youth and Sports Department took place at the Kuala Belait Municipal Hall.

The Chairman of the Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board Awang Abdul Majid presented prizes.
