Music would once again be a unifying factor in a fund raising activity for the suffering Muslim community of Cambodia when local solos and groups representing a variety of musical concepts will perform tonight at the JPCC Amphitheatre in Jerudong.

Crescendo (RnB group), W.L.K. (Band), B-Style & B-Boys (HipHop Group), Aces (Band from Tutong), Chikalo (All female HipHop Group), Senjakala (Band), Deno (RnB solo), T.O.D. (Chinese Pop Group) and Da Rudge (fresh mindblowing HipHop talent from KB) will perform for a good cause. The concert will be emceed by Lo Ryder.

Organised by Irama Morgen Production, the gate would open at 7.30 pm and tickets priced at $9 will be available. at the gate Profits from the concert will be channelled to "Tabung Derma Orang Islam Kambodia".

Leading the pack of the multi-concept musical individuals and groups would be Crescendo, who first stormed the local music scene when they performed as guest artistes for international mega group A1 concert in Brunei Darussalam in 2001.

The five young local lads of Crescendo, Awang, Azman, Aqib, Alyn and Alyd appeared once again in the Hip Hop group concert by the Malaysian Too Phat in December 2001.

The five lads sang without music, a task easier said than done. Aged between 17 and 21, the boys are acapella singers. They sing without being accompanied by musical instruments, which needs plenty of talents and skills.

Many acapella singers go for singing courses but Crescendo need not do that.

"They are so fantastic that all of them sing in different keys and provide a brilliant result," said a spokesperson representing the organiser.

He said tonight's concert is also meant to expose the local musical talents to the entertainment market. A successful venture into the industry guarantees unlimited marketing success and cross-over appeal, a guaranteed income, fame beyond your wildest dreams, unlimited (but recoupable) industry resources, music awards, citations and honours and protection from community repercussions, he said.

International artistes, groups and musicians had rallied in the past for good causes by performing concerts in the name of charity.
