Permanent Secretary at the
Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources Dato Paduka Haji
Idris Bin Haji Belaman hosted a dinner on Saturday night for the
Mayor of Shenzen Mr Yu Youjun, who is in the Sultanate to
promote economic and tourist exchanges and cooperation between
Brunei and Shenzen.
The event, held at Li Gong
Restaurant in the Empire Hotel and Country Club, was attended by
various directors and senior officers of the Ministry of
Industry and Primary Resources.
The Ambassador of the People's
Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam Mr Wei Wei was also in
attendance.
Earlier that day, Mr Yu and
other delegates visited some of the country's most popular
tourist destinations, including the Jame'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah
Mosque, the Royal Regalia and Kampung Ayer.
The Chinese mayor said he was
impressed by the architectural design of the mosque. In his
opinion, he added, it was the most elegant and beautiful
structure in this region.
He also said a visit to Royal
Regalia helped him better understand His Majesty and the
country's long-standing monarchy.
