Students gearing up for the
Malay creative dance competition.
A cultural and Art concert
competition within the Kuala Belait primary schools was held at
the Municipal Hall in KB town yesterday morning.
Attending as the chief guest
was the Assistant Director of Ministry of Education, Awg Hj Abd
Haji bin Hj Isbak, who also presented prizes to winners of the
competition, which was divided into two categories namely choir
and Malay creative dance.
The chairman of the event, Dyg
Hasna binte Hj Harry said that the concert, which was held for
the first time for primary schools in KB district, was part of a
project by KB School's department through the principles and
deputy principles in achieving the students activities programme.
The aim of the concert was to
expose teacher's skills in developing the talent of the
students.
A total of ten schools within
KB district had participated in the two categories.
The chief guest praised the
proactive efforts of schools in preparing the concert and noted
it a great success.
He added that the educational
institution should hold a role in strengthening the Malay
culture, which is still relevant as time goes by.
The public had flocked to the
hall yesterday to watch the entertaining and colourful
performance by the young students.
