Schoolmates cheer on for their friends.

Some of the audience at the forum competition.
The ability to deliver
charismatic talks seemed to be the main focus for participants
of this year's forum competition among higher education
institutions. It was held in conjunction with the New Hijrah
Year 1424.
The competition, which was
originally an idea put forward by students of Sultan Bolkiah
Religious Study College (MPUSB), has been conducting the first
few rounds for the past two days. The finals will take place at
the Dewan Raya RTB in Bandar Seri Begawan next Saturday.
The preliminary rounds were
held at the hall of MPUSB, which brought together the best of
student personalities and speakers from higher education
institutions throughout the country.
The education institutions
taking part are Male Arabic Secondary School, Pengiran Anak
Puteri Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah College of Nursing, Maktab
Duli Pg. Muda Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah College, Sultan Haji
Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education and UBD.
Held in conjunction with the
New Hijrah Year, students can bring up any topic to discuss so
long as it correlates to this year Hijrah theme, "Bangsa
Berilmu Negara Maju, Bedasarkan Wahyu".
Judges mark participants 50 per
cent for content, 25 per cent for fluency and 25 per cent for
style of delivery. Each school had to present an individual
group forum of four - three panel speakers and a
chairman/chairwomen. It is delivered in the Malay language, the
country's national language.
The participating institutions
were only allowed to sign-up a group of four to compete in the
competition.
But they were more than welcome
to bring in as many supporters from their school to cheer on for
their fellow schoolmates.
