Dialysis centre furnished with new TV sets

By Zan Hosni

Awg Zainal Abidin (R), GM of Primatel Communications presents the sponsored items to Dr R Dwarakanathan.

Patients of the Kiarong Dialysis Centre can now enjoy better entertainment facilities with the addition of three more television sets sponsored by Primatel Communications.

The three television sets were presented to a representative of RIPAS hospital, Dr R Dwarakanathan, the Head and Specialist Nephrologist of the Renal Unit, RIPAS, by the General Manager of Primatel Communications, Awg Zainal Abidin.

The entertainment units were given to the centre as a means to better serve the community whilst at the same time promoting a better quality of life.

Awg Zainal Abidin hoped that their sponsorship could in some way aid those patients whilst receiving their treatment at the centre.

The Kiarong Dialysis Centre has been in operation since 2001, when it was re-opened following the establishment of its main centre, the Kampong Rimba Dialysis Centre.

It was reported that the centre in Kiarong receives as many as 36 dialysis patients who are overseen by two nurses in each shift. Only six patients can receive treatment at a time.
