Dato Paduka Awg Hj Abd Ghani presents cash and
daily food supplies to one of the heads of fire victims.
Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal
Bolkiah has donated a total of B$5,300 to five families who had
suffered losses after a major fire had gutted their half-wooden
houses in Kg Badas, Seria, March 26.
As a result of the fire, a
total of 30 people from the five families were left homeless and
lost valuable items including their houses in which they have
stayed over 30 years.
Besides cash, the Yayasan
Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah also presented daily food supplies
and school stationary to the victims' children who are still
currently in school. The contribution was presented yesterday by
the Managing Director of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah,
Dato Paduka Awg Hj Abd Ghani bin Pehin Dato Pekerma Dato Paduka
Hj Abd Rahim.
The ceremony was held at the
house of Hj Ibrahim bin Idrus, Pekan Seria Ketua Kampong in
Seria.
The fire is believed to have
been caused by faulty external electrical wiring. The victims
were fortunate to have escaped unhurt and managed to save
important documents.
The contribution is hoped to
ease the burden of all the victims, who are currently residing
in their relative's homes.
