Workers Appraisal Fair And Proper In Brunei

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei has a proper method ensuring a more transparent, clear and fair evaluation of workers' performance.

However there is still a difference between a man-made appraisal system and the evaluation of the Ummah by Allah the Almighty.

The Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Dato Ustaz Awang Haji Yahya highlighted this at the annual Hijrah 1424 meeting yesterday.

Pehin Yahya said that according to departmental procedures, an individual or a group of officials evaluate and give marks does performance appraisals or opinions of staffs' work progress.

Also present at ceremony was the Religious Affairs Minister Pehin Dato Dr Ustaz Awang Haji Mohd Zain.

The meeting was chaired by the Permanent Secretary at the Religious Affairs Ministry Pengiran Dato Haji Yussof as the Executive Committee Chairman of the early Hijrah annual meeting of the Religious Affairs Ministry.

In his address, Pengiran Dato Haji Yussof said that the early Hijrah annual meeting was introduced in 2001. It sought out a new formula in preparing programmes and planning of celebrations to further strengthen and glorify Islam.

Besides fostering closer relationship among staff and officers in the ministry, it could give useful information and advise in efforts to upgrade the efficiency of the departments under the Religious Affairs Ministry leadership.
