The Nova Ensemble promises
a night of different entertainment.
The Brunei Music Society will be
bringing in yet another distinguished music act from Western
Australia called the Nova Ensemble. The concert will be held at
the Orchid Garden Hotel on April 12 at 7.30 pm.
The group, which is being
sponsored by Music Viva Australia and the Australian High
Commission, promises to be a different and entertaining
experience.
Nova Ensemble is known for
"pushing the boundaries of musical performance in their
pursuit of newly-invented and original instruments." The
group's innovative use of industrial and recyclable materials is
their unmistakable onstage trademark. Featuring a unique
collection of eye-catching and wondrous sounding instruments,
Nova's music spans the breadth of percussion, woodwind and
horns. But it is not until you have heard these instruments in
concert that the mastery and joy of this group unfolds.
Tickets for the concert are
priced at $15 for adults and $7 for students, and are available
from the Mabohai Club or at the door.
The Brunei Music Society will
also be giving school workshops in the capital. For more
information contact Mrs Patricia at presscott@brunet.bn or call
8822124.
