Brunei Attends Asean Economic
Conference In Laos

Awang Haji Abdul Rahman has left Brunei for Laos.
Pehin Rahman is attending the
Informal Asean Economic Ministers (AEM) Meeting Retreat and the AEM-EU
Consultative Meeting, which will start today until April 4.
It will discuss the result from the
8th Asean Summit held in Phnom Penh, especially the efforts of Asean's
economic integration.
Among the agenda discussed was the
high level task force status, which was established to give input on
economic strategies that can be introduced in Asean, report on Asean
competitiveness study and the cooperation of the External Asean
Economy, which is already formed such Asean-China, Asean-USTR,
Asean-EU, Asean India and Asean-Japan.
In the consultative AEM-EU Meeting,
the Economic Ministerial Meeting will discuss with the Asean-EU about
issues on trade, investment and economic cooperation.
The AEM Retreat Meeting will also
focus on issues related with APEC and WTO especially in preparation
for the Ministerial Level Conference to be held in Mexico in
September.
