Dato Hazair Confirmed As RBA Chairman

Bandar Seri Begawan - Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hazair bin bin Haji Abdullah has been confirmed as Royal Brunei Airlines Chairman.

A Prime minister's office press release said yesterday that by command of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei, that His Majesty has consented to the confirmation of Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hazair bin Haji Abdullah, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, Acting Chairman of Royal Brunei Airlines Company as Chairman of Royal Brunei Airlines Company Limited.

His Majesty has also consented to the appointment of Pengiran Haji Abdul Hamid bin Pengiran Haji Mohd Yassin, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office as Acting Chairman of the Royal Brunei Airlines Company.

His Majesty also consented to the appointments of new Directors for Royal Brunei Airlines.

They are Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Maidin bin Pengiran Haji Hashim, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Idris bin Belaman, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry Industry and Primary Resources, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Ahmad bin Haji Ibrahim, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Kani bin Haji Salleh and Awang Haji Alidi bin Haji Mahmud, Senior Administrative Officer at the Prime Minister's Office as alternate director.

With appointments of the new Directors, Royal Brunei Airlines no longer has an Advisor.

All appointments are effective as of yesterday, March 31, 2003.
