Ziana Zain, the songstress and actress who literally can bring
the house down with her high pitched voice performed to a packed
audience at a charity show at LR Asma Hotel in Jerudong last
night.
She may have been tired after
arriving here from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at 2.50pm but her
performance was power-packed as she wooed her audience with song
after song.
Madah Berhelah, Setia Ku Di
Sini and Puncak Kasih were some of the songs she belted out.
Diva Ziana Zain, and local
singers, Ajis and Tuty, were the guest artistes of Dilly's De
Beaute, the main sponsor of the performance organised by Badan
Sukarelawan Belia-Belia Tutong in their venture to collect money
for the Tutong Orphans' Fund.
The 800-strong audience managed
to see Ziana Zain by virtue of purchasing Attitude products to
the tune of $65 each which was on sale since 10 am yesterday at
the Floor 7 Lobby of LR Asma Hotel's Ballroom.
Ziana started her entertainment
career as a singer and has successfully made her transition to
acting where she is known to be a box office puller too - being
a sulky silver screen movie queen.
While a few other Malaysian
female singers flopped at the box-office, Ziana's first three
movies (Sembilu 1, Sembilu 2, Maria Mariana) helped propel her
as an actress to be reckoned with.
Apart from her winning
"high pitched" voice, she is also the darling of top
Malaysian songwriters such as Adnan Abu Hassan, Johari Teh,
Saari Amri and Habsah Hassan.
Meanwhile local singer Ajis who
also performed at the show is scheduled to have a single out in
October with a song composed by Johari Teh, Dugaan. At the
charity show, Ajis showed the crowd that he is the next singing
sensation of Brunei as he serenaded the crowd with his new
single as well as songs like Asmara Ini and Lukumu Lukamu Jua.
Ajis, 17 was a former finalist
of Bintang Kecil and had been singing at Radio Television
Brunei.
Tuty might be new but her
talents show in songs like Seandainya Masih Ada Cinta and
Lakaran Kehidupan. She will also be releasing a single soon.
The dancers of Badan
Sukarelawan Belia-Belia Tutong and Epic Future Troupe provided
the background modern dancing.
