Brunei To Attend ASSA

The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Lela Dato Seri Paduka Haji Awang Hussain bin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri DiRaja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Mohd Yusof, as the Chairman of the Employee Trust Fund will attend the official ceremony for the admission of The Employees Trust Fund, as a member of the Asean Social Security Association (ASSA). The ceremony will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on April 20, this year. The ASSA was instituted via a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed in Thailand on February 13, 1998 as a forum of mutual cooperation in the field of social security in the Asean region. The objective of the association is to increase the development of social security through the exchange of views and experiences between members.

Brunei Darussalam will be the 7th member of ASSA after Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore Thailand and Vietnam.
