Donations for orphans

Donations continued to pour in for the Crown Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans. A ceremony to receive donations was held yesterday at the Head Office of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation at Jalan Kumbang Pasang in the capital.

The first donation was presented by the Tutong District Office. The sum was $3,912.99. The donation was made up of fifteen per cent of the total collection gathered from the sponsored charity run/walkathon 2000 handled by the department last year. Presenting the donation was Pg Abd Haris bin Pg Haji Shabudin, the Acting Tutong District Officer.

The secretariat organisers for the Jerudong Park (JP) Ma'al Hijrah 1422 Carnival donated $360.98 to the fund. The donation was collected from the public at the Nadhwah (Forum) Ma'al Hijrah 1422 and the Nasyid Competition night held on March 31 and April 1 respectively at the Amphitheatre, Jerudong Park Garden. The donation was presented by Dayang Hayati bte Haji Mohamed, the Manageress for the event.

Both donations were received by Pehin Dato Ustaz Haji Awang Yahya bin Haji Ibrahim, a member of the Board of Trustees for the Crown Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans. The ceremony was witnessed by several members of the Board of Trustess and personal representatives from the donors.
