The Empire Hotel & Country Club
came of age recently when it deservedly won this year's award in the
category of "Best New Resort Hotel" in the Asia Pacific
region. The Hotel's Executive Director, Dayangku Rose binte Pengiran
Hj. Hitam proudly received the award during the PATA (Pacific Asia
Travel Association) Travel Mart Closing Ceremony at the Alkaff
Mansion, Singapore on April 6.
The awards are given annually in a
number of different categories and are voted on by travel trade
industry professionals from around the region.
"We are absolutely delighted
about winning Best New Resort in Asia Pacific. All of the team have
worked extremely hard to get the hotel open in a very short space of
time and the award is an affirmation of the great job that they have
done," said Dk. Rose Pg. Hj. Hitam. "This award has now
elevated the hotel to a higher level of international awareness and
recognition in the tourism industry," she added.
At The Empire Hotel & Country
Club, the management and staff will continue to strive for excellence
in service and make this award milestone the first of many on the
journey to becoming, what is hoped, will be the best luxury five star
hotel in Asia.
It is anticipated that the award will
raise greater awareness of Brunei Darussalam as a destination, which
in turn, will drive higher tourist numbers to the Sultanate.
