Chambers of commerce in Brunei Darussalam were set up to remote business interest of the different business groups. In 1997, the Brunei Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry merged with the Malay Entrepreneurs Association, uniting the Malay trade and business organisations in the country. Cooperation between the chambers is regarded as good.
